1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Makerate ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Makerate is a web-based tool that helps users calculate pricing for 3D printed objects. The Service includes a public calculator, user accounts for saving quotes and profiles, and shareable branded quote links. All printer specifications and cost calculations are provided as estimates and should be adjusted to match your real-world setup.

3. User Accounts

You may use the calculator without an account. To save quotes, create custom printer/filament profiles, or generate shareable links, you must create a free account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise harvest data from the Service in an automated manner
• Use shareable quote links to distribute harmful, offensive, or illegal content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity

5. Intellectual Property

The Makerate name, logo, and all content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. All printer specifications, power estimates, and cost calculations are provided for informational purposes only and should be verified against your actual equipment and costs.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. You may delete your account at any time through the settings page. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Makerate operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
